Entries are now open for the 2024 World Powerlifting Championships.

These Championships are open to:

  1. teams from World Powerlifting affiliated national bodies
  2. individuals from nations where there is no World Powerlifting national body

BODYWEIGHT CLASSES
Bodyweight classes are Men 62/69/77/85/94/105/120/120+kg, Women 48/53/58/64/72/84/100/100+kg as per WP Technical Rules.
Bodyweight class entered can be changed up to 21 days prior to the Championships i.e. September 22, as per WP Technical Rules.

AGE CATEGORIES
All entrants are placed in Open; age group lifters additionally placed in their age category
Age categories are Open, Youth, Junior, Masters as per WP Technical Rules

EQUIPMENT
Samtek bars, discs and racks on the competition platform and in the warmup room

AWARDS
Medals in Gold, Silver, Bronze to 1st, 2nd 3rd in Open + age groups
Certificates to all participants
Trophies to Best Lifters by Wilks 2020 formula, Best Teams in Powerlifting by team points (only registered WP nations eligible for team awards).

ANTI-DOPING
WADA compliant drug testing will take place during the Championships. Out-of-competition testing can occur at any time.
All entrants must complete a WP Anti-Doping Consent Form

PRESENTATIONS
Medals + certificates + trophies will be presented at a function Sunday evening

ENTRY FEE
EUR150 = USD160 = AUD250 per lifter in Powerlifting
EUR100 = USD105 = AUD160 per lifter in Bench Press or Deadlift
Anti Doping Levy  EUR20 = USD20 = AUD30 per lifter
Cancellation policy is full refund, less bank fees, for withdrawals up to 60 days prior to the Championships i.e. August 18, after that date no refund.

To be organized by entering teams/individuals to Kingsford Smith Airport Sydney – airport code SYD

HOTEL ACCOMMODATION
Teams & individuals are free to book accommodation as they wish. However hotel recommendations will follow

VISAS
Teams and individuals are responsible for obtaining any necessary visas for entry to Australia. Visa information can first be obtained from the Australian Department of Home Affairs homeaffairs.gov.au but further advice should be taken from Australian Embassies or Consulates in your nation. World Powerlifting will issue any necessary letters of endorsement or confirmation, but only if —

  1. your WP national body is paid up as to its 2024 affiliation fee
  2. all individual entry fees are paid
  3. you have submitted copies of passports for all team lifters, coaches and officials.

Be clear that World Powerlifting cannot submit letters of verification of good standing and completed entry when that is not true – to do so would threaten our standing with border control authorities world-wide and the conduct of these Championships
