The 2023 World Powerlifting Championships will be held in Rome, Italy from 30th October – 1st November. Venue is the Palatorrino Stadium, via Fiume Giallo, Rome City. Information as follows and to be updated –

All lifters will be ranked as Open and also in any age group that applies according to their date of birth.

Travel

Competitors and offcials from all nations are free to travel to Rome as you wish. The main airport in Rome is Leonardo Da Vinci, which has direct fights from many cities. You must have travel insurance covering any medical costs and other contingencies during the period you are away.

Entry Fee

The Championships entry fee is EUR150 per lifter Powerlifting, EUR100 per lifter in Bench Press or Dead Lift. Coaches and referees no charge.

Visas

It is the responsibility of each competitor and/or their national body to obtain any necessary visa to allow entry into Italy. Many nations can travel visa free to Italy, however a long visa process is required for many other nations. That may involve the provision of various  documents and attendance for interview at your nearest Italian Embassy or consulate.

It is likely that a letter of invitation from World Powerlifting will be required for entrants from some nations. If so, contact [email protected] for this to be provided. You must specify to us who the letter is to be addressed to, whether each lifter and official must be named in the letter and any other details that are required. Be aware that letters lacking any required information will almost certainly result in visa rejection and delay. The visa process can take some months and should be commenced immediately.

Team Uniforms

All apparel worn by Lifters and Coaches must be as per the World Powerlifting Rules of Competition and all apparel meeting those rules is legal. However within those rules it is possible to obtain custom made uniform suits from A7 https://a7.co/pages/custom-singlets minimum order 25 suits. Or standard World Powerlifting Suits and Bar Grip Shirts can be obtained, view these at the WP Shop but order direct from [email protected]

Coaches must be attired in shirts and shorts/tracksuit pants as per the Rules of Competition.

Referees must wear WP uniform as per the Rules of Competition.

Equipment

Samtek racks, bars and discs will be on the competition platform
